Tuesday’s Tunes: SpongeBob Squarepants
by Julie Fletcher
SpongeBob. You either love him or hate him. I am in the love camp because as silly as he is, SpongeBob has some great lessons built in. The little yellow guy is himself, all of the time, without regard for what other people think of him.

He loves music, too. I picked up the SpongeBob Squarepants TV Theme cd and my kids from the five year old to the one year old danced all over the place. Silly songs, fun beats and a love of all things ‘kid’, this cd is saturated with those things!
You might have dismissed SpongeBob and the music from the show as too silly for your child, but remember that children love silly things that to an adult make no sense. Take some time to let go for a minute and just enjoy the silliness.

We’re a spongebob family! My five-year-old has shown us the way of the spongebob and we cannot turn away. Seriously, where else can you find a clever cartoon that works for both kids and adults? Plus the artwork is amazing when there is a close-up.
DIE ZOMBIE!

Haha!
My five year old has this stuffed Spongebob that she has to have eveywhere. Her daddy has taken to calling him ‘Dirty Bob’ because he’s, well, you know how kid’s loveys get after a while. Even washing it over and over can’t change that.

Ha, my son loves Sponge Bob. I think some of the shows are funny. The one I like best; ironically is the one where Sponge Bob has to write the paper and can’t think of what to say. The best part is when the house is screaming at him because he set him on fire. I know it’s dumb but every time I see it I crack up.
Cute graphic.
