Enough Is Enough

by Julie Fletcher

I am angry.

I do not know if all readers have seen some of the disgusting comments left by mentally deficient racists lately, but I am going to have my say.

Racism, no matter what part of the world you live in, is wrong. It is sickening and a sign of small intellect. Hate is nothing but stupidity with a different name. It does not matter whether you are hating someone for their heritage, religion, race, or sexual preference, the hate you display is a lack of intelligence.

I am sure many people will say, “Oh, but I have an education, I am a PhD, I am very intelligent, BUT…”

There lies your problem. In the ‘but’. Why does there need to be a ‘but’? Blacks are as intelligent as whites, with degrees in major departments. If not for amazingly intelligent blacks, there are many inventions we would not have today. Latinos did not depend on whites to drive their civilization or invent the products they use every single day. The heritage of native peoples in South and Central America is one that invented the most accurate calendar in world history.

It goes on and on for every race in the world. I will not even touch the subject of religion, that is even more explosive than racism.

What I will say is this:

Do not come to this blog and leave comments that insult other races, countries, or religions. Your comment will be deleted because the Family Resource Blog will not tolerate hate. If you have something to say that concerns such a topic, send me an email. Hate mail is fine, but I will not allow this sickness to spread from this blog and infect others.

Wow, that’s too bad that people are acting this way Good stand though. Excellent post on taking back this community’s blog.

Thanks. It has been very annoying and sapped a lot of my creativty for a while. Bit, I’m not going to let any hater of any type ruin this place for anyone.

I’m writing in response to your comments about racism, this must be related to the Romanian’s abuse children blog… As an American married to a Romanian I can offer you some interesting perspective. I recognize that EVERY country, EVERY race, every corner of the world in fact, has it’s own form of trash! People tend to deflect the recognition of their own peoples & countries faults by focusing on those of others far from their home. This helps them escape and evade their own brand of problems right in their own backyard.
As an American married to a Romanian, I must tell you I would rather live in Romania these days!
You see, they have universal healthcare, we don’t! Romanians all enjoy paid maternity leave…we don’t! They all get full pensions from the government that allow them to afford basic needs of life after retirement! We, if we’re lucky will get a few hundred dollars a month to give straight to the nursing home we are doomed to die in. They don’t even have nursing homes like we know.

THEIR FAMILIES TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN!!!

They don’t excommunicate their elderly relatives to a group home so they can wait to die.
Family values STILL EXIST there, where here in America it’s something you can only experience by watching reruns of leave it to beaver or the brady bunch!

I have seen thousands of gypsies in Romania. The Gypsy parents exploit the government by having troops of babies to increase their monthly benefit. Just like our welfare mothers here in the states. Only there in Romania, they send their kids out to beg in the streets and train stations, outside retail shops and pretty much anywhere you go you will find them.
They encourage begging over going to school.
In Romania, the gypsies are a plague upon a nation. They are people, but a people that function largely as a parasite. Sometimes when the kids don’t beg enough money away from kind strangers, they get beaten. Others cast them into the streets and still collect from the government for the very child they can’t even take care of.
Try to be understanding of the “racist” for whom you shut down the blog over. He is just a passionate man who loves his country, as am I.

Things are improving in the Beautiful country of Romania and I’m sure one day other countries will look at Romania for examples of change to apply in their own ways….

Sorry for such a long off topic post…but after reading the 30 something comments on the other thread you shut down, I just couldn’t keep my “mouth” shut!

    Kind regards, Ron

Oh one other thing, It is definitely wrong to have that image on the internet. If the child grows up to see it, who exaclty will compensate him for the use of his picture? Not to mention the damaging effects it will have on him! It still comes up 4th in google for images on Romania, that is just not right….in my opinion it should be removed, as many others have also stated…

Thanks for the comment about my Vinyl Art over at hippiesounds!

I think on this issue, though, that hate usually is a fear-based defense mechanism. I wouldn’t consider people who hate to be unintelligent, just not tolerant of that which they don’t understand. Some very very intelligent people hate with a passion. Hate, like love, can be very passionate. It means you care about what you’re hating. It mean you care so much that it scares you. As compassionate lovers, we could maybe do better to respond being true to ourselves, not reflecting the others’ unwillingness to drop defenses and seek understanding. Usually, antagonizing one who hates merely reinforces their internal fortress making it less likely for them to open up. Like Ron suggested, though it’s hard, if we put ourselves in their shoes, maybe we can drop our hate of hate and understand them, expanding our community. Life is individual and, again though hard, loving benefits humanity more than hate, even of hate itself.

    Peace.

  6. Julie Fletcher Says:

Thank you, Daniel. I’m finding it very hard to step into these shoes, because I have been at the receiving end of this sort of hate so often.

I look white to all who meet me. But I am a mix of several different heritages and races. In the rural south, where I grew up, racism was ever present. My oldest daughter’s father is a complete racist and I lived with that for years.

I just can’t allow hate to run rampant here at FR, not hate of our fellow man. I can condone other types of hate, but not this.
