{"id":298,"date":"2006-04-13T08:36:56","date_gmt":"2006-04-13T14:36:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/?p=298"},"modified":"2006-04-13T08:36:56","modified_gmt":"2006-04-13T14:36:56","slug":"schedules-and-naptimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/2006\/04\/13\/schedules-and-naptimes\/","title":{"rendered":"Schedules and Naptimes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It seems my daughter has decided she doesn&#8217;t need two naps a day.\u00a0 I knew it was coming, I just wasn&#8217;t ready for it.\u00a0 She has been resisting her morning nap for about a week now.\u00a0 In fact, as I type, she is in there telling me exactly what she thinks of me.\u00a0 This is how the a.m. naps have been going lately.\u00a0 We read our naptime story, kiss Mac the bear and Strawberry bear naptime kisses and give each other naptime kisses &#8211; and what is supposed to happen is that she curls up on her Hello Kitty pillow, like she used to, and falls asleep.\u00a0 Not so much.\u00a0 I am not ready for this change in our routine, but looks like I have no choice.<\/p>\n<p>So, instead of two naps a day we are sizing down to one in the middle of the afternoon after lunch.\u00a0 This is apparently <a title=\"naptimes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.indianchild.com\/parenting\/toddlers\/toddlers_skipping_naps.htm\">normal toddler behavior<\/a> &#8211; my first born didn&#8217;t nap at all so I have no point of reference.\u00a0 That being said, I suppose I should just be greatful that I have had this long to enjoy a kid who loves to sleep &#8211; when I think back about my son&#8217;s complete resistence to any form of rest it sends a shiver down my spine.\u00a0 Those were long days, indeed.<\/p>\n<p>So, with spring comes a new regime in our household.\u00a0 On the brighter side, I will get to enjoy much more of her burgeoning, brilliant personality &#8211; she is becoming quite the fascinating little person.\u00a0 Yes, it will be cutting severely into my &#8220;work&#8221; time but there will always be things &#8220;to do&#8221; &#8211;\u00a0 this time is rare, we can sleep later&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It seems my daughter has decided she doesn&#8217;t need two naps a day.\u00a0 I knew it was coming, I just wasn&#8217;t ready for it.\u00a0 She has been resisting her morning nap for about a&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-298","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/298","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=298"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/298\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=298"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=298"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=298"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
