Finally, someone has made a movie (after writing a well researched book) called An Inconvienant Truth<\/a><\/em>\u00a0about Global Warming,\u00a0that nagging little impending doom that a lot of conservative folk don’t like to admit exists.\u00a0 Politics aside, I wanted to bring it up because I think that it is important for all to go check it out.\u00a0 Al Gore has done a great job of keeping this topic on our societal radar – otherwise, it might have fallen\u00a0 (shoved, kicked under the carpet)\u00a0by the wayside (another crazy progressive idea that has no merit… you know, like the one about the Earth being round an’ all).<\/p>\n

Today, we are hearing and seeing dire warnings of the worst potential catastrophe in the history of human civilization: a global climate crisis that is deepening and rapidly becoming more dangerous than anything we have ever faced.<\/p>\n

And yet these clear warnings are also being met with a “blinding lack of situational awareness” — in this case, by the Congress, as well as the president.<\/p>\n

As Martin Luther King Jr. said in a speech not long before his assassination: “We are now faced with the fact, my friends, that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late.<\/p>\n

“Procrastination is still the thief of time. Life often leaves us standing bare, naked, and dejected with a lost opportunity. The tide in the affairs of men does not remain at flood — it ebbs. We may cry out desperately for time to pause in her passage, but time is adamant to every plea and rushes on. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words, ‘Too late.’ There is an invisible book of life that faithfully records our vigilance in our neglect. Omar Khayyam is right: ‘The moving finger writes, and having writ moves on.'”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, ideally, we would have all read the book by now – but Mr. Gore was realistic in his endeavor.\u00a0 He put it in film format – not everyone has time to have a sit down with a good book these days.\u00a0 Check it out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
