{"id":371,"date":"2006-07-04T07:55:01","date_gmt":"2006-07-04T13:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/?p=371"},"modified":"2006-07-04T07:55:01","modified_gmt":"2006-07-04T13:55:01","slug":"happy-4th-of-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/2006\/07\/04\/happy-4th-of-july\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy 4th of July!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today is one of my favorite holidays since having kids&#8230; A\u00a0chance to get outside with your friends and eat as much wonderful picnic food as possible, true American style.\u00a0 We have the whole afternoon\/evening planned around bbq, slip and slides, baby pools and fireworks.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll be secluded out in south of Nashville country and surrounded by folks who we thoroughly enjoy being around.\u00a0 Fun times for all.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s my contribution to the shmorgasbord:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>MINTED VODKA LEMONADE<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>1 cup (packed) mint leaves, chopped<br \/>\n2\/3 cup sugar<br \/>\n1 cup fresh lemon juice<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups vodka\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Crushed ice<br \/>\nFresh mint sprigs\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Combine chopped mint and sugar in large bowl. Stir in lemon juice and vodka. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>Strain mixture into pitcher. Fill six 6- to 8-ounce glasses with crushed ice. Pour mixture over.
