{"id":458,"date":"2006-11-15T23:12:05","date_gmt":"2006-11-16T05:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/?p=458"},"modified":"2006-11-15T23:12:05","modified_gmt":"2006-11-16T05:12:05","slug":"somebody-stop-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/blog\/2006\/11\/15\/somebody-stop-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Somebody Stop Me.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have grown accustomed to the fact that, since having children, <a title=\"article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.familyresource.com\/pregnancy\/concerns-and-expectations\/mom-butts-stretch-marks-and-sagging-oh-my\">my body has somewhat become it&#8217;s own creature<\/a>.. Changing and evolving (if you can call it that) into something that I have little control over.\u00a0 I have grown used to the feathery stretch marks on my belly and have become thankful that they aren&#8217;t as bad as some of my friends.\u00a0 I have dealt with the fact that I have nursed two children and, well, the ladies are a bit tired these days.\u00a0 There isn&#8217;t a lot of &#8220;perk&#8221; to my jiggle and jerk, if you know what\u00a0I mean.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve eased into all of these things and thought that I was doing pretty good.<\/p>\n<p>Somehow, as I crouch toward thirty, some scary things are happening to me.\u00a0 Widening type things.\u00a0 Things that have nothing to do with producing children.\u00a0 My body is spreading.\u00a0 All over the place.\u00a0 Of course, I&#8217;m the only one to notice.\u00a0 So far.\u00a0 I can admit that most of it is in my mind &#8211; but some of it is not.\u00a0 And that&#8217;s more than I can handle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the thing.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not an jazzercizer.. I don&#8217;t really &#8220;do&#8221; exercise.\u00a0 In fact, I hate pointless exercise and think that people who go to gyms are weird.\u00a0 Can&#8217;t explain it &#8211; I just get annoyed with exercise.\u00a0 I know this about myself.\u00a0 No big deal.\u00a0 I am still very physically active, nonetheless.\u00a0 I live a very energetic life.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 Exercise isn&#8217;t my problem.\u00a0 I know what my problem is and I can&#8217;t (don&#8217;t want to) fix it.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s food.\u00a0 I love it.\u00a0 I mean, I love it like most people love sex or drinking or &#8211; name your addiction.\u00a0 Seriously.\u00a0 If you want me to be somewhere, just dangle a carrot in front of me &#8211; if food will be there, so will I.\u00a0 And, here I am, two days into the flu and it&#8217;s in front of me and even though I feel like dog shit, I want to eat it.\u00a0 I love it.\u00a0 Love.\u00a0It.<\/p>\n<p>My adoration of food has never been a problem.\u00a0 Until tonight. \u00a0I caught a glimpse of my spreaded out ass today in the mirror.\u00a0 Sure I was wearing my &#8220;sick&#8221; pants (a very old and very saggy pair of sweat pants that are far from flattering) but, still.\u00a0 It looked gross.\u00a0 And, I know that my love\u00a0of eating is the cause.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t get me wrong.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t have an actual addiction.\u00a0 I just love food.\u00a0 I love cooking it, smelling, picking it out at the farmer&#8217;s market, reading about it, planning meals.. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So, what&#8217;s a girl to do?\u00a0 The Dr. Weil trial is going well but, since I have been sick all week, it is hard to be following a health regimen.\u00a0 All I have felt like doing is sleeping (and eating, somehow).\u00a0 Perhaps if I keep following it, I will develop a better sense of balancing foods I adore with foods I should eat to age &#8220;gracefully&#8221; and without the mom butt creeping up on me as fast as it is.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have grown accustomed to the fact that, since having children, my body has somewhat become it&#8217;s own creature..
