Beware of excess sodium creeping into your diet

Although people with high blood pressure should limit sodium intake to 2,000 milligrams a day, Smalling says, 3,000 to 4,000 milligrams isn’t too much for the average person. Yet many Americans take in nearly twice that much, according to dietitian Donna Skelly.
